Becoming a Leader
New leaders will need to do the following:
- Fill out an Adult Registration Form
- This will require 3 references
- Complete a Police Record Check. Instructions can be found here
- Have an interview with the Group Administrator and/or the Group Commissioner and/or an existing section leader
- Complete a 3 month probation period
What we provide a new leader
- the tan Scout shirt - if you purchase this yourself, submit the receipt to the Group Committee. If you are a leader for less than two years, we request that you return the shirt to the group
- an appropriate section leader handbook: Beavers, Cubs, or Scouts. Once you finish being a leader for a section, please return the handbook (unless you purchased it yourself)
- the appropriate necker, woggle and epaulets for your section.
- a key (#1) to the Scout lockers. Please return when no longer a leader.
- Training - 2nd Guelph Group Committee will pay for your Woodbadge Part I training. Please speak to the Group Commissioner for more information about available training.

Things you should know
- New Leader Orientation Guide:
- Our 2nd Guelph Standard Calendar of Events (.doc) - you should be aware of the timing of many of the typical events throughout the Scouting year
- The Group Committee is responsible for the overall running of all sections (Beavers, Cubs & Scouts) at Dublin Street United Church. Please contact members of the committee if you have any questions or concerns about Scouting.
