FAQ

Q. Your meeting night doesn't work for me, are there other groups around?
A. Certainly. Check the Wellington District web site for a list of groups in the Guelph area or try the Group Locator.

Q. I signed up with another group, but their night is not working for us - can I just switch to your group?
A. Yes. Once you've registered with Scouts Canada you may transfer your membership to any group. Just let the new group know where you were registered and they can arrange for your records to be transferred.

Q. We are having some financial difficulties. Is there any assistance available, or can we make other arrangements?
A. Assistance is available from a number of sources: Kids Can Play, Scouting's Moledina Fund and others. We do not wish to see a child turned away because of cost. Please speak to the registrar about possible arrangments.

Fees

Fees for the 2009/2010 Scouting year are $175. Registrations after March 1 for the remainder of the scouting year (March - August), will be discounted. Please note that most (but not all) activites are finished by end of May (or sometimes mid-June).

Discounts

2nd Guelph is pleased to offer a $20 discount if a parent volunteers to be a leader, or $10 if they agree to be on the Group Committee. Leaders have weekly responsibilities to be involved in the delivery of the Scouting program. Group Committee meets roughly once a month to oversee the program and assist with organization and finance. While these discounts are relatively small, they are intended to reflect a token of our appreciation for agreeing to participate as a volunteer. Without volunteer Leaders and Group Committee we cannot run our Scouting Program.

There is a $20 discount for a second child and a $40 discount for a third child

Cheques

Cheques can be made payable to "2nd Guelph Group Committee"
