Summer Camp Staff — Haliburton Scout Reserve

Reporting directly to the Haliburton Scout Reserve Camp Director, you will provide great customer service as you interact with campers and provide great, safe scouting adventures at Scouts Canada’s largest camp located about 30 minutes from the village of Haliburton, Ontario. For those 16 years and older, we are looking for program instructors, waterfront instructors, lifeguards, retail sales staff, kitchen staff and grounds, cleaning and maintenance staff.  If you are 15 years old, consider joining our Staff-in-Training program where you volunteer to learn about our camp operations and learn and develop your leadership skills.

In collaboration with the Camp Director, the Administrator/Activities Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of all administrative duties related to camper registration, program placement and meal plan details.

The Camp Counsellors (20-22 positions) are responsible for the implementation of the Camp Programs for campers, encouraging adventure, enjoyment and the development of new skills and interests. Camp Counsellors are responsible for developing weekly programs for and the supervision of participants aged 5-16 years.  This position requires passion for working with youth and an interest in supporting the Senior Staff in incorporating more of the Canadian Path principles into the Summer Camp Program.

Our Inclusion Staff are responsible for supporting campers with a variety of exceptional needs to optimize enjoyment in our Programs.  Inclusion Staff will assist Counsellors in encouraging adventure, increasing participation, and facilitating the development of new skills and interests for kids.

The Junior/Intermediate Program Coordinator (1 position) is responsible for the development & delivery of the Beaver, Cubfield and Brownsea programs, including all program content, related activities & program participants. This position is also responsible for all equipment, supplies & services necessary for the operation of said programs.

Under the direction of the Resource Coordinator, the Kitchen Staff (5-6 positions) are responsible for the preparation & delivery of Summer Camp meals, including rations plus kitchen related clean-up/maintenance.

In collaboration with the Camp Director, the Resource Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of all resource duties related to Waterfront, Rocks & Ropes, Equipment, Kitchen and Maintenance.  This position will also work closely with the Administrator/Activities Coordinator and Inclusion Staff.

The Senior Programs Coordinator (1 position) is responsible for the development & delivery of the Troop Outdoor Skills, Survival, Outdoor Survival Leadership & Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) programs, including all program content, related activities & program participants.  This position is also responsible for all equipment, supplies & services necessary for the operation of said programs.

The Support Services are responsible for the implementation of the maintenance, equipment, rocks & ropes and waterfront for the Camp for campers, encouraging adventure, enjoyment and the development of new skills and interests.
