Content Production - Youth Leadership Training

3-5 hours per week
 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY

Accountable to the Project Lead — Youth Leadership Training for the production of project-specific training content, the team member will provide helpful insight, excellent writing ability, and knowledge of Scouts Canada programs to generate content for the redevelopment of Scouts Canada’s Youth Leadership Training courses. The desired outcome is to develop Youth Leadership Training courses for youth in all Sections. These courses will enable youth to harness the youth-leadership mechanisms of The Canadian Path. They will also help the team develop resources contributing to an externally recognized leadership skills training, which contributes to Scouting youth's academic and professional resumes.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow an outlined plan and meet deadlines to deliver content deliverables at appropriate times
  • Create leadership-based adventures in Trail Card format, using knowledge of the Canadian Path and section-appropriate activities
  • Ensure that activities are designed with Personal Progression and Youth-Led in mind, and foster an adaptable learning environment to meet the needs of Scouts Canada’s diverse membership. 
  • Complete regular check-ins with the Project Lead to receive support and to ensure that deadlines will be met
  • Work with the Youth Leadership Training team to ensure that resources being developed are in line with the goals of the project, and are contributing to the success of the project as a whole.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be an Active youth member of Scouts Canada
  • Must be familiar with the current youth leadership training courses: FAST, FLEX and FOCUS
  • Must be familiar with the principles and direction of The Canadian Path
  • Must be organized and motivated - project management skills and experience are an asset
  • Must have demonstrable leadership, management, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Must have strong communication skills - an ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Must have a commitment to Scouts Canada’s Mission, principles and practices, demonstrated through personal development and sound management practices
  • Bilingualism (French/English) an asset
