Current Projects
Kenya 2012 Project
In 1991 a group of Canadian Youth traveled to Kenya on the 1st Brotherhood project of its kind. The goal was to build a small health centre for a rural community. The clinic now treats 250 people a day and it’s time to return for an upgrade and expansion. If you want to be a part of something amazing and rewarding the application process is now open. The trip takes place over 28 days in August 2012.
Madagascar 2012 Project
In 2008, Scouts Canada made a promise to the village of Ambato Boeni, Madagascar. Together, we would work to dig fresh water wells, build school facilities and provide electricity. In January 2009, a coup d’état and ensuing civil unrest forced Scouts Canada to postpone the project indefinitely. The time has finally come to follow through with our promise. With democratic elections taking place, a peace agreement signed and clearance from the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Scouts Canada can now accept applications for the positions of Youth Participant and Adult Patrol Advisor. Application forms will be accepted until 5 January 2012.
