Public Appointment Process Team Lead

As a member of the National Volunteer Services Team, the Public Appointment Team Lead will manage the Volunteer Public Appointment Process (PAP). The successful candidate will help us recruit Council Commissioners, Council Youth Commissioners, Deputy National Commissioners and key functional teams.
 
Purpose: Manage Scouts Canada Public Appointment process for Volunteers
 
Supervising Commissioner: Deputy National Commissioner – Volunteer Services 
 
Term: Annual – Maximum of 3 Terms
 
Time: 5-10 Hours per Month
 

Responsibilities

  • Consult with Commissioners  in current positions  to ensure postings are generated in a timely manner
  • Write and post Job Descriptions 
  • Interact with Scouts Canada MarCom Team to ensure  job ads are posted and stay current
  • Monitor Public Appointment Email Inbox
  • Forward Applications to the appropriate Search  Committee Chair
  • Interact with Search Committee Chairs to monitor the progress  of their  posting and Interviews 
  • Maintain the Public Appointment Process Matrix
  • Maintain the  a complete list of starting and ending dates for the National Service Team and the Board of Governors  
  • Interact with Search Committee Chairs as need be 
 

Requirements

  • Meet the Membership Requirements and be Registered with Scouts Canada 
  • Completed Wood Badge Part 1 Canadian Path 
  • Excellent  Communication Skills
  • Excellent Computer Skills
  • Team Player
  • Time Management
  • Problem Solving
  • Ensure that there is an effective flow of accurate and timely information regarding the Public Appointment Process, including procedure and policy changes. 
  • Familiarity with Social Media
