CJ'17 is designed for Scout aged youth (11 to 14 years of age) from across Canada and the world. Youth that are age 15 at the time of CJ’17 but are registered in myscouts.ca as a Scout for the 2016/17 Scouting year are also eligible to participate. Participants must be registered members of Scouts Canada or any member organization of the World Organization of the Scout Movement; or the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, both at the time of registration and at the time of CJ’17 (July 8–15, 2017). Scouts may register as a Patrol or as Solo Scout Participants.
A Patrol is a group of Scouts who, along with at least 2 registered adult Scouters, camp and attend jamboree programs as a group.
An Individual, or Solo Scout, is a registered youth member who is not part of an existing patrol registered to participate in the Jamboree.
An Offer of Service is a registered member aged 14 and above who is assisting with the delivery of services and programs at the Jamboree.
Members of International Scouting are welcomed at official Scouts Canada events.
An additional Patrol Scouter is a Scouter camping and cooking with a patrol above the required minimum.
