George felt a strong commitment to the organization, its members, and especially it's youth. George was present at every event, and even attended a Canadian Jamboree a number of years ago even though he was battling cancer - much to the amazement of his doctors, who didn't think he'd be ready. George's passing has left a sizeable hole in our Area's Scouting family, but the knowledge and skills that he shared with our leaders and youth throughout the years has left us all better Scouters. George truly lived a Scouter's life. A memorial fund has been set up at George's request to help fund Area Scouts attend camps and jamborees. Bible Hill, Nova Scotia Council
