Scouts Canada Fights Hunger!
This August, Scouts Canada has the opportunity to partner with the South African Scout Association to once again defend the city of Mafikeng (formerly Mafeking).  This time though, instead of defending against siege, we are defending against poverty and hunger.  Click here to find out how you can get involved in this international development opportunity…

22nd World Scout Jamboree
The 22nd World Scout Jamboree will be taking place from July 27 to August 7th, 2011 and will be held in Kristianstad, Sweden.  Youth between the ages of 14 and 17 years old are eligible to apply as participants, and those aged 18+ are eligible to apply as volunteers.  Please note that youth must have been born between 25 July 1993 and 27 July 1997 to attend as participants; (unfortunately there will be no exceptions made for these qualifications).  For more information, please check out the WOSM website at http://www.scout.org/en/information_events/news/2008/22nd_world_scout_jamboree_update or the WJ2011 website at http://www.worldscoutjamboree.se -  contact information is available here under the "Jamboree Team" heading.  IST information and criteria can be found here.  For the chance to be a staff member in the Canadian Contingent at WJ'11, click here to view our job postings.

Boy Scouts of America Jamboree 2010
Scouts Canada will be sending a small contingent of our members to the BSA Jamboree, 2010 which is to be held at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia.  To enquire about securing a spot in this event for your group, please contact Melissa Jowett (mjowett@scouts.ca).  Please note that as we have only been allotted a small contingent (40 youth and 10 adults), participants will be chosen on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of payment - (approx. The 4th International Youth Gathering - United Arab Emirates
Young, male Rovers are invited to apply to attend the 4th International Youth Gathering, "Scouting and Intellectual Initiatives", which is to be held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from February 3-13, 2010.  One male Rover from each National Scout Association will submit a project or other intellectual initiative to share at the event.  The event is intended for youth to develop relationships with participants from different countries and to share intellectual initiatives and ideas.  For full event details click here.  Submit your profile and intellectual initiative to Melissa Jowett at mjowett@scouts.ca on or before Tuesday, December 8th.  The successful candidate will be notified on Wednesday, December 9th.

Centennial Cub Jamboree 2010
The Central Escarpment Council is proud to follow the international success of the 2007 Cub Jamboree with an event in 2010 to celebrate 100 years of Scouting in Ontario!  The 2010 Cub Jamboree will be held from July 25th to 31st at Camp Everton.  For more information please visit the Jamboree website at http://www.ccj10.com/

World Scout Winter Games
From March 3rd to 8th, 2010, Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) will be hosting the 2nd World Scout Winter Games.  The disciplines will include such sports as Cross Country Skiing, Curling, Slalom Racing, Synchronised Skiing and Triathlon Teams.  Only one team per country will be accepted and each team will consist of 6 youth aged 16 to 22.  To read the official invitation, please click here.  To read the press release, please click here.  To fill out an application form, please click here.  You can also read more about this event on the Kandersteg World Scout Winter Games website at http://www.kisc.ch/?uid=267.

13th Panamerican Jamboree - New dates announced!
The 13th Panamerican Jamboree is a wonderful opportunity t travel and learn about Mexico in an atmosphere of exploration and advenure.  The event is set to take place in Toluca, Mexico and will be held between July 10th and July 18th, 2010.  To learn more, please click here. (Please note that this information pamphlet may not reflect the new dates).

Environmental Projects Competition
The World Scout Bureau, Interamerican Region is pleased to call for entries for the "Environmental Projects Competition"- a project designed for Scouts and Venturers who seek to protect and repair the environment.  The competition is open to Scout and Venturer units who meet the age requirements of the 13th Panamerican Jamboree (see above), and the winners of the competition will receive a grant to attend the aforementioned event.

26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines would like to invite you to the forthcoming 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree, to be held from December 28, 2009 to January 3, 2010 to be held in Laguna, Philippines.  The APR Scout Jamboree will provide Scouts from many countries with the opportunity to learn each other’s cultures while experiencing new adventures.  Click here to read the official invitation and to read more.

16th National Jamboree:  The Bharat Scouts & Guides of India - This event has been postponed indefinitely - more information will be posted once it becomes available from The Bharat Scouts & Guides National HQ.
The Bharat Scouts & Guides or New Delhi, India, are pleased to inform you that they are organizing their 16th National Jamboree which is to be held at Shankarapally, Rangareddy District, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India from November 6-12, 2009.  The Bharat group is expecting a sizeable number of participants to attend from countries all over the Asia-Pacific Region and other parts of the world.  For more information, please click here.

Belgium Jamborette 2010
The scouts of Niove, Blgium are orgainizing their second international camp:  The 'Jamborette 2010'.  This is a smaller version of the big jamborees which is being held to celebrate their 90th anniversary of Scouting with as many international scout groups as possible.  The event will take place from July 24th to August 2nd, 2010.  For more information, visit their website at http://www.jamborette.be or click here to check out their pamplet.

The European Scout Voluntary Programme
2000 was the inaugural year for this new program designed by the European Region to enable Scouting members to travel to Europe and work as volunteers in camps owned by European associations. Participants musT be between 18 - 30 years of age, members of a recognized WOSM member organization, and available to work for a period of at least four weeks between May 1 and September 30.

22nd Australian Jamboree
The 22nd Australian Jamboree will be held between January 4-14, 2010 at Cataract Park in Sydney, Australia.  Boys and girls between the ages of 10.5 and 14.5 are welcome to join the festivities.  All inquiries should be directed to Sam via e-mail: AJ2010.international@nsw.scouts.com.au or you can visit their website at www.scoutsaj2010.com for more information or to register for the jamboree.

1st "Bolivariano" Scout Jamboree
The first ever "Bolivariano" Scout Jamboree is to be held in Quito Ecuador from August 7 to 12, 2010.  Participants must be between the ages of 11 and 15 and Venturers must be between the ages of 15 and 17 in order to attend.  For more information, please see the invitation (please note that the invitation is only available in Spanish at this time, we apologize for the inconvenience).

Kandersteg International Scout Centre
This facility, located in the Swiss Alps about 65 km south of Bern, offers opportunities for volunteer staff year round based on seasonal staffing needs. Anyone interested in applying for one of these staff positions must be 18 years or older, be a member in good standing of Scouts Canada and have a proven ability in English (other languages are a bonus). Scoutlink
Scoutlink is a global non-profit organisation which aims to connect scouts and guides worldwide. We provide a safe and supervised chatting environment for them, using the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) technology. Scoutlink is online 365 days a year and has created friendships around the planet. Our main event is JOTI and we enjoy connecting with new people each year.

Russian Jamboree
This year The Scouts of Russia will be celebrating their 100th anniversary of Scouting.  In celebration they have invited our members to attend their Jamboree which is to be held from July 27th to August 5th, 2009 on the beautiful Karelsky peninsula.  Please note that group applications must be sent the Jamboree coordinators (

Benin Jamboree

4th Mongolian Jamboree
We are please to inform you that the Scout Association of Mongolia will hold the 4th Mongolian National Jamboree between August 3-8, 2009 at “Nairamdal” International Children’s Center, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.  The Scout Association of Mongolia would like to take this oppurtunity to invite young scouts and leaders to attend the Jamboree.  The Jamboree welcomes scouts between the ages of 12 - 17 years old. National Jamboree in Estonia

Norweigian Jamboree
Utopia, National Scout Jamboree in Norway, 2009

From July 4-11, 2009, the Norwegian Guide and Scout Association will be hosting a Jamboree in Andalsnes, Norway for scouts, rovers and scout leaders aged 10 and up.  Read more about the Jamboree and about how to join on their webpage at www.landsleir.no/english, or click on the link above to read the brochure.

Dutch camp Marsna Jamborette, August 2009
The International Commissioner of Scouting in the Netherlands is pleased to inform you about the Marsna Jamborette 2009, which will be held from August 3-14, 2009 in Meerssen, the Netherlands. This camp will be held for the 7th time and is intended for Guides and scouts aged 13-17; leaders are welcome to participate in this international camp as well. The aim of the Marsna Jamborette is to make new friends through a variety of programs. For more information visit the camp website at

Blå Sommer 2009
Blå Sommer 2009 is the National jamboree for the Danish Scout and Guide Association (Det Danske Spejderkorps).  This event takes place every fifth year at one of the largest campgrounds in Denmark called "Stevninghus" situated in the southern part of Jutland.  The next jambroee will take place from the 15-23 or July, 2009.  Approximately 18,000 participants are expected to attend including 2,000 scouts from foreign countries.  For more information contact (foreign scouts) by e-mail: gu@klu.dk

Roverway
RoverWay is an event offered by WOSM and WAGGGS in Europe for young Scouts and Guides (boys and girls) at the age 16 to 22 (born 1987 - 1993). If you are older you can attend as a leader of a group or apply to become IST (International Service Team) staff member.  RoverWay 2009 will start in Reykjavík, Iceland with an opening ceremony in the morning of July 20th and concludes at Ulfljotsvatn Scout Center in the the morning on July 28th. Jamboree Bénin, 2009
The Bénin Scout Association (Scoutisme Béninois) would like to invite you to their National Jamboree in Bénin, from the 25th of July to the of 3rd August, 2009. The Jamboree will be held in the middle of Bénin in Bohicon. This time the Jamboree is called «Unity, Solidarity and peace" and the intention of the event is to explore the environment.   Invitees include groups of up to 15 Scouts aged 12+ with their leaders(18+) and individuals aged 18+. Registration is open until 23rd of may.
