Have you heard the buzz?
…it’s about the Climate Change Ambassadors! The Climate Change Ambassador program is looking for keen Venturers, Rovers or Scouters to lend a hand in getting the word out about our award winning climate change program to sections across the country. As this is part of our 100th Anniversary celebrations, let’s make this happen between now and December 2007!
We want many ambassadors - so a little can be done, but a whole lot accomplished, and it won’t take up too much time away from our normal Scouting activities.
What do Climate Change Ambassadors do?
That depends on who you are. Click on the following links to find out more!

Please note – although two different streams are outlined, as an Ambassador you can choose which role you wish to do.
Climate Change Ambassador Kit
To help ambassadors do their job, councils will provide a kit that includes the following:
- A copy of the Climate Change Resource Book. This book includes great JUMPSTART programs, extra ideas, and energy audits for Colonies, Packs and Troops.
- An Resource CD. This includes an outline for a Sharing Session/Old Wolves/Scouters Club talk, and soft-copies of the Cub and Scout energy audits.
- Leave behind cards – information you can leave with the Section Scouters about the climate change program and where they can get more information.
- Fridge magnets – hand out these to youth and leaders you talk about climate change with.
- And as a token of appreciation - a special Climate Change Ambassador Necker.
OK – how do I get more information?
I’m interested in helping out! If this sounds interesting – contact your Council Advocate! Your Council Advocate is the co-ordinator for the Ambassador program at the council level. They can tell you more about being a Climate Change Ambassador. If you don’t know who that is – talk to your Council Commissioner or call your Council office.
