Welcome to the 2009 - 2010 Season

Another season is around the corner and if its anything like last years scouting year, we are all in for a treat. Our Area grew last year thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the leaders. Our youth won 5 Medal of Maple awards and there were others that were nominated. We also hosted the Quebec Council Meeting and Youth Awards Ceremony. A special thanks to all the youth and leaders that participated in the Popcorn drive. The results that helped our groups finance special events and camps was the best ever and the best in the Quebec Council.

Area camps planned for this year are: the Sixer and Second Cub Camp, Wilderness Rescue Camp, and the Annual White Tail Camp.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Bienvenue à la saison 2009 - 2010

Une autre saison débute et si l’on se fie aux saisons dernières, nous vivrons encore une formidable aventure. Notre secteur a affiché une croissance l’an dernier, merci au travail acharné et au dévouement de tous les animateurs. Nos jeunes ont mérité 5 Médailles de l’érable et d’autres ont été en nomination. Nous avons également été les hôtes de l’Assemblée du Conseil du Québec et de la Cérémonie de récompenses des jeunes. Un merci tout spécial à tous les jeunes et animateurs qui ont participé à la collecte du Mais des scouts. Les profits qui ont permis de financer des activités spéciales et des camps ont été les meilleurs jamais obtenus et les meilleurs du Conseil du Québec.

Les camps de secteur planifiés pour cette année sont : les camps pour sizeniers et seconds pour les meutes de louveteaux, le camp sauvetage en milieu sauvage et le camp annuel des queues blanches.

J’espère pouvoir vous y rencontrer.

Je vous souhaite mes meilleures chances pour la saison et rappelez-vous que votre équipe de service Ohiyo est là pour vous aider, n’hésitez pas à communiquer avec nous.

  J'espere que vous avez tous eu de bons vacances pendant l'ete! Je viens juste de retourner de quelques semaines en Europe, et j'ai quelque chose a vous donner.
  The attached article (PDF and word doc), english and french, is a recruitment Advertisement/Article that Carole Ravenda and I prepared last February. The original idea was to have it published in all of the community newspapers in Quebec, but that didn't work out so well. So instead, I'm giving it to all the ACs and AYCs so that you can do with it what you'd like. If you want to use it by posting it in the newspapers in your Area (which I think would be a great idea), go for it!

  Also, the document may be edited, as long as it remains within the Scouting spirit. One suggestion would be to add something about local groups (such as how every year, a group(s) helps with specific community events and charities) to make it more relveant. Additionally, please make sure that the translation is well-done. It was originally translated by Louise, but I made a few changes, and am not guaranteeing accuracy for my translations!
