For Earth Day, our Pack decided to plan a special event to contribute to our community and to help the environment. Our Club has adopted a stretch of urban trail in Oakville, and so we decided to get out to the trail to pick garbage. We discussed how this would make the trail more enjoyable for local residents and remove plastics and recyclables from the environment. We brought bags to sort garbage and recyclables. We broke our group up into teams, and held a contest to see which group could pick the most garbage. Every team collected at least 1 full bag of garbage, and all together, we collected 13 bags of trash over 2km of trail! We were really proud of the impact we had and how we had left the area better than we found it!
