Upcycled Succulent Planter

We will be handcrafting small, planter pots by recycling used paper, used twine, and concrete mix as a binder. The pots will house succulent or cactus plants of each participant's choosing, and decorated with stone or shell.
We will discuss the environmental benefits of upcycling materials as well as how this particular composite provides temperature control that mimics desert habitat.
We will discuss plant care to sustain and create new growth. This includes soil types and fertilization, photosynthesis processes, pruning and propagation techniques.
Participants will view a finished planter and take part in all steps to create a pot, transplant a 2.5-3" plant, decorate and be able to take home with a printed care guide.
