CJ’17: An Epic Scouts Adventure

Are you ready for the most epic adventure of 2017 for Scouts? CJ’17 is your chance to experience the first Jamboree on the Canadian Path! Join us at Camp Nadooae in Elderbank, Nova Scotia for eight non-stop days of fun, friendship and adventure.

Over the course of your time at CJ, you’ll be able to challenge yourself in the 5 areas of the program: Land-based programs, Water Programs, STEM Programs, Unscheduled Adventures and off-site programs. You can take in Halifax “Amazing Race style,” ride the 350-foot zip-line on the extreme adventure or have a shot at building your own Confederation Bridge in the STEM area. There are so many adventures to be had; it’ll be hard to fit it all in just 8 days!

In the evenings or during a free program period be sure to stop by St. Andrew’s Plaza, the hub of jamboree life. There will be over 40 booths and vendors to visit, as well as a stage featuring frequent guests and acts to check out. St. Andrew’s Plaza is where you’ll be able to send a letter home from the post office, learn about the 24th World Scout Jamboree, visit the Canadian Pavilion and so much more!

2017 is not just going to be epic for Scouts from across Canada and around the world. It’s also an important year for Canada as we mark its 150th birthday. There is only one way to celebrate something as big as Canada: with a huge birthday party! Bring your red and white, noisemakers and flags and banners for our Canada 150 Celebration at the main stage.

Although we’ll be on the East Coast, by visiting each of the sub camps, each based on famous Canadian trails from across the country, you’ll get a glimpse at some of the things that make each region of Canada so diverse and unique. Your sub-camp team will be there throughout the week to answer questions and help make sure you have a great week!

If this sounds like an adventure for you, but you’re no longer scout-aged, you’re still invited! We need Offers of Service (OOS) to help make this event possible for the thousands of Scouts who will call this their Canadian Jamboree. OOS will have unique opportunities to experience Halifax and the jamboree program during time off periods scheduled during the Jamboree. You will also be able to partake in the opening ceremony and of course Canada 150 celebration.
