As we begin another Scouting Year, we also commence a new era for our Scouting Life magazine. It wasn’t long ago when Bill Gates shared his vision of “one computer for every home.” Back then, it was so hard to imagine such foresight. Fast forward to today and we not only have a computer in every home, we now have computers, laptops, tablets and phones. The only thing that is constant is change and technology is accelerating that transformation by influencing how we interact and do things. As our society evolves, so should our magazine. Welcome to the first online edition of Scouting Life!
With our magazine being fully online, you will now have access to it anytime, anywhere using your preferred electronic devices. You can easily share important or interesting articles to fellow Scouters, Scouts and parents. It also allows for faster and more convenient distribution to all of our members. Regardless of where you are, you will have access to the latest edition as well as our archive of previous issues.
Despite the evolution though, there is one thing that will not change. Scouting Life will continue to be a portal for everything about Scouting. You’ll continue to see the National Key (John, Caitlyn and Andrew) share their insights on the strategic direction of our organization. You’ll be able to read feature articles of what our volunteers and staff are working on across the country. Section-specific articles will continue to inspire you with new ideas that you can use immediately in your weekly meetings. We’ll carry on sharing upcoming important events. And, you may even see your own group’s success on our top five priorities (membership growth, safety leadership, program quality, volunteer support and group capacity) highlighted in one of the articles. Enjoy your new Scouting Life
