Thank a Scouter on International Volunteer Day – December 5, 2017

International Volunteer Day provides the Scouting community with the opportunity to celebrate our Scouters and the impact they have on their communities, both locally and nation-wide. It is due to their hard work that we see our vision of Canadian youth making a meaningful contribution to creating a better world, come to fruition.

I wouldn’t be who I am today without the mentors throughout my Scouting life.

Every year our Scouters go above and beyond to ensure Scouting youth have great, safe adventures while they develop into confident, capable individuals prepared for future success.

Let’s hear from our youth on how their Scouters have made a difference in their lives:

“I thank Scouters for my experience. I owe them so much for helping me to grow as a person,” said Rebecca Cairns, 1st Porcupine Plan A Company, “Teaching you about the environment and community, Scouting stops you from focusing on yourself as much. You become more thankful and willing to give back and help. Scouting makes you aware of others.”

“I wouldn’t be who I am today without the mentors throughout my Scouting life,” said Graham Enns, 264th Somerset-Bridlewood Rover Crew, “In Scouting I have been accepted, made great friends and I’ve learned a lot—all while having fun. The value of Scouting to my life has been immeasurable.”

Thank you to all of our Scouters who are truly making a difference in the lives of Canadian youth. On International Volunteer Day, say ‘Thank You’ to a Scouter you know through the ‘Say Thanks’ button.
