Scouts Give Back Over the Holidays

What makes the holiday merry and bright? Scouting youth giving back to their communities and showing kindness to others!

This holiday season, Scouting youth spread generosity and joviality as they contributed time and resources to their communities, sharing cheer and warmth.

Check out the inspiring projects Scouting youth have led this holiday season:


1st Sandalwood Venturers sorted, counted and distributed Santa Boxes for younger Sections to deliver to the community, bringing gifts to kids from families facing economic barriers.


The 2nd Huntsville Scouts pitched in to help with their local Project Porchlight Food Drive.


Venturers from 5th Garry Oak spread holiday cheer by helping to decorate a seniors’ resident.


Thunder Bay Cubs and Beavers helped out with a local food drive to fill the food bank.


The Ginkgo Biloba Scouts contributed gift bags to York Region Social Services, part of Ginkgo Biloba’s annual service project. With bags decorated by the younger Sections, Scouts fill the bags with necessities like toiletries, hats and treats.


Peterborough Scouting youth lent helping hands to deliver Christmas hampers to the community.


Scout Gigi donated an incredible amount of books—enough to fill 100 family baskets, to Migrant Montreal.


The 27th Orchard Scouts and Cubs served holiday meals and bussed tables for a ‘resident and family’ Christmas dinner at a local senior residence.


With so many Scouting youth across Canada paying it forward this holiday season, we can’t help but be inspired by the amazing young leaders who are taking action to spread kindness to others.
