The 1st Lennoxville Scouts recently held a fitness session at the Bishop’s University sports center.
Our session started in the pool, where our members enjoyed swimming, diving, and water games.
We then proceeded to the basketball court to practice various dribbling and passing moves, followed by a friendly basketball game involving both the youth and the leaders.
A game of dodgeball took place at the side of the court, too.
The fitness day was part of our ‘Active and healthy living’ program, which aims to promote sports, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle.
In a time where many youth spend hours staring inactively at a screen, exercise and movement provide them with a much-needed balance, and are energizing and refreshing for both body and mind.
The 1st Lennoxville Scout group is planning more sports-themed days in the coming months and encourages its members to stay active year-round.
Yours in Scouting,
Didi Gorman, 1st Lennoxville Scouts
