Good Turn Week is happening from April 29th to May 7th and we want to hear about your Good Turns! If you, your Section, Group or Area are doing a Good Turn this year, you can enter the Good Turn Week – Adventures on the Path Contest.
All you have to do is capture yourself or your Section doing a Good Turn during Good Turn Week, write a brief story about it, and share it on the ‘Adventures on the Path’ section of the ScoutingLife.ca website.
Here is what we are looking for:
- Fun stories about your Good Turn adventure and how it helped improve your local community or an individual’s day (500 words or less).
- Great photos or videos of your Good Turn.
- Good Turns that happened during Good Turn Week (April 29th to May 7th, 2017).
Please note: entries must be submitted by May 15th, 2017 at 12PM EST.
A panel of youth judges will select the top three submissions based upon their creativity, quality and content. Bonus points will be awarded to Good Turns that display youth leadership.
The top 3 entries will win a Sports HD DV water resistant camera, a Good Turn Week t-shirt and a $50 gift card to the Scout Shop!
To enter you must be:
- An active and registered member of Scouts Canada
- A Canadian resident
- On the Canadian Path
What is a Good Turn?
A good turn is defined simply as an act of kindness provided without expectation for compensation or recognition. This can be as small as buying the cup of coffee for the person behind you in line to creating a large community project that looks to impact your community in a big way. Through these acts of kindness, we can promote a better sense of community, friendship and compassion around the world.
