About the 2019 World Scout Jamboree

Once every four years the Scouting youth of the world come together and celebrate what it means to be a Scout! This once-in-a-lifetime experience brings the entire world to your fingertips, where all Scouts can freely and enthusiastically share their cultures with one another in the spirit of the Scout Law. Each and every Scout has but one opportunity to attend a World Jamboree as a Participant.

More than 40,000 Scouting participants from over 150 countries will gather together for WSJ 2019 – join them and represent Canada on the world stage!

Unlock a New World

“Unlock a New World” will be the theme as you meet Scouts from across the globe and experience many extreme adventures including white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, zip-lining and more.

The exciting, well-rounded program for WSJ19 will focus on four core values: Adventure, Service, Sustainability, and Leadership.

When is WSJ19?

The World Scout Jamboree will be from July 22 to August 2, 2019.

Where will WSJ19 be held?

The World Scout Jamboree will be held at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, West Virginia, USA.

Who can join the Canadian Contingent?

Scouts Canada or l’Association des Scouts du Canada youth members that are 14 to 17 years old when the jamboree begins (born between July 22, 2001 and July 21, 2005) can join the Canadian Contingent as jamboree Participants.

Eligible youth participants may register individually or together with a prospective Unit Leader.

Adult members may apply for Unit Leader positions, which also travel as part of the contingent.

Adults wishing to join the Jamboree under Offer of Service are encouraged to register as part of the International Service Team (IST).

Every country, including Canada, will have a fixed quota of Scouting Youth who can participate at WSJ19. Should there be more applicants than quota spots; a selection process will be implemented involving an evaluation of each youth’s accomplishments and dedication to Scouting.
