Bookkeeper — Summer Contract

We have reinvigorated our program to meet the changing demands of youth and are searching for a recent graduate who is looking to begin an exciting career in the Non-Profit sector to help us develop well-rounded youth better prepared for success in the world.

Do you think you have what it takes to become our next Summer Contract Bookkeeper? If you answered yes- we want to hear from you! We are looking to hire a bookkeeper for an 8 Week contract commencing mid-June.

Reporting directly to the Controller you will support the financial activities of Scouts Canada through handling the day-to-day accounting processes including data entry, account analysis, account reconciliations and other duties as required by Controller.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Data-entries on accounts payable module (GP)
    • Enter approved invoices on GP
  • Inter-company transactions
    • Maintain the schedule of inter-company transactions
    • Monitor the balance of inter-company transaction accounts for collection
  • Inventory data entries and reconciliation
    • Review obsolete inventory and assist with month end reconciliation
    • Monthly entries on inventory
  • Provide support as requested.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary level education in accounting or finance
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamic GP is an asset
