Council Relationship Manager — Voyageur Council

You might be the right person to take on the role of Council Relationship Manager (CRM) in Voyageur Council.

CRMs work closely with volunteers and youth in a shared leadership model to build business plans that deliver results on membership growth, program quality, safety leadership, volunteer support and organizational strength. The CRM maximizes stakeholder (youth and parents) value by delivering a great, safe program in communities across the Council. 

Under the direction of the Regional Director, the CRM is responsible for driving volunteer and staff engagement to achieve our most important goals.  

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Council performance to achieve key performance indicators in membership growth, safety leadership, volunteer support, organizational strength and program quality through a co-developed business plan with the Council Key 3 (Council Commissioner and Council Youth Commissioner)
  • Ensures Scouting in Voyager Council is safe for all members, that volunteers are compliant with our screening policies and directs effective risk management practices
  • Co-leads the Council Leadership Team with the Council Key 3.
  • Is a trusted advisor and a key resource for program knowledge, organizational policies, and the Volunteer Support Strategy
  • Through proactive communication, establishes and maintains positive relationships with Council, Area and Group leadership teams
  • Maintains succession plans for key volunteers
  • Manages and engages a team of Scouting Relationship Managers

What you bring to the table:

  • A collaborative leadership style, results orientated and inspires others to succeed
  • You are competent in change leadership; and have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment while engaging others to remain focused on success
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills both oral and written, and the ability to speak effectively and persuasively to groups and individuals
  • Excellence in organizational leadership with the ability to set and achieve strategic objectives and manage performance
  • Strong networking skills and able to build positive and professional relationships with community leaders, volunteers and members
  • Capable of delivering results through others
  • Senior management experience, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
  • Experience in sales and marketing and promoting programs and services in the community
  • Knowledge and experience with strategic planning, budget planning and management and asset management
  • Account management experience is preferred
  • Experience in recruiting, onboarding and managing volunteers
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean drivers abstract
  • Clean PRC/VSS
  • Post-secondary education in a related field

At Scouts Canada, we collaborate across the country, therefore confidence with collaboration tools and technology is essential. Most of our team works from a home-based office environment and will spend time travelling to meet colleagues and volunteers. This work will require you to work irregular work hours, including evening and weekend responsibilities.

You will travel anywhere up to 10,000KM per year (travel mileage allowance will be provided), which will require you to have a valid Driver’s License and a clear driver’s abstract, as well as access to your own vehicle.
