As the inaugural Executive Director, Commercial Ventures, you will report to the Executive Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer. Your mission will be to identify and create opportunities to diversify commercial activities, as well as create alternate sources of revenue and partnerships, leveraging existing assets. You will oversee commercial lines of business outside of core programming to ensure cohesive brand alignment, and you will conduct market research and external assessments of trends, opportunities, and challenges. You will develop and share strategies that will enable the organization to seize on business opportunities, while responding to the environment in an agile manner.
As the ideal candidate, you are an engaging team leader and trusted partner with the strategic foresight and entrepreneurial spirit to position Scouts Canada for ongoing success and impact. You will emulate the organization’s competencies including having a deep sense of integrity, a member focus approach, a spirit for innovation, and strong leadership. An outstanding communicator with an exceptional work ethic, you have highly developed people skills, are an excellent manager and mentor, and have a proven track record working with senior staff to achieve ambitious business results. You have demonstrated experience developing and executing strategies and business plans, and a conceptual understanding of a wide variety of aspects of business development, retail, and fundraising campaigns.
As a leader, you personify rigour, integrity, compassion, and objectivity. You are a relationship builder and communicator with excellent influencing skills, and a strong people leader with excellent team building, mentoring, and interpersonal skills. Your experience in the ecosystem of social entrepreneurship would be an asset, as would your advanced degree in business, your proficiency in customer service, and your experience working with market research, and analytics and technology solutions.
