This camp is located on the southern tip of the Canadian Shield on Christie Lake, 100 km southwest of Ottawa. This idyllic camp is located on more than 200 acres of rugged terrain, nestled among three pristine lakes, provides the perfect Scouting adventure away from busy roads and crowded cities.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Program Staff (7 positions) are responsible for the facilitation of outdoor adventure activities and programming on property for adults and youth. This staff team will be responsible for running daily program stations and will provide instruction to guests in various capacities (i.e. archery, paddling, ecology, hiking, orienteering, etc). Program Staff will be responsible for maintaining assigned equipment to ensure safe operation on-site, and will monitor daily program sign-up systems in order to prepare the appropriate gear and equipment for successful facilitation. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Program Staff will be rewarded with a beautiful natural work environment and plenty of fresh air this summer. Camp will be in operation 5 days per week and staff will have a variety of daily schedules to choose from week to week. The property will be closed to the public for one full day and two half days per week, providing staff with the opportunity to re-charge and enjoy all that Opemikon has to offer.

Due to the risks associated with COVID-19, we are asking that all staff (other than Maintenance) commit to staying on-site for the entirety of their contract this season; forming and maintaining a “staff bubble” and reducing the risk of transmission due to external close contacts. Staff will be housed in Tabins or Cabin accommodations. A Camp Cook will be employed to provide hearty, healthy meals to the staff team daily.
