Kitchen Coordinator — Camp McLean

TERM: July 1 – August 23, 2024. This position is a full-time 8-week commitment.

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• The safety and well-being of all staff and volunteers in the kitchen area.
• Ensuring proper food-safe practices are followed.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen to comply with local health standards.
• Assisting with the preparation of all meals & snacks.
• Assisting with the serving of all meals.
• Receiving and checking the accuracy of the food order.
• Ensuring cookware and dishes are cleaned as required.
• Supervision of kitchen helpers as needed.
• Assisting with other camp duties as requested by the Camp Director.

Qualifications:

• Some previous cooking experience an asset.
• Food Safe Certificate.
• Strong Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a Team Environment.
• Enthusiastic and energetic.
• Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search or willing to obtain one (n/a to applicants under the age of 18).
• Successful applicants will be required to complete the Scouts Canada Screening and Training requirements.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Previous experience working with youth would be an asset.
• A desire to have FUN.

WAGE:

This is a contract position and a total salary, commensurate with skill and experience, will be established for the contract period.
