Maintenance Staff — Camp McLean (Langley, BC)

WORK TIME:

This position is anticipated to begin on-site on June 27th and will work full-time hours (35 hours per week), for an 9 week commitment, until August 26, 2022. Further information regarding mandatory training dates & the official start date will be confirmed in the onboarding process

Tasks & Responsibilities:  

1. Maintain the overall safety of the grounds and facilities that pertain to Summer Camp.
2. Ensure the overall cleanliness of the grounds and facilities that pertain to Summer Camp.
3. Ensure all COVID safety protocols are met, including cleanliness, and sanitizing of Summer Camp areas and equipment.
4. The maintenance of Summer Camp equipment and supplies.
5. Assist with regular camp maintenance in coordination with the Camp Director.
6. Foster an atmosphere of fun and create those cherished (at camp) memories for everyone.

Qualifications:

1. Strong Interpersonal and communication skills.
2. Ability to work within a Team Environment.
3. Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
4. Understanding of Scouts Canada’s practices.
5. Enthusiastic and energetic.
6. Valid Criminal Record Check or willing to obtain one (n/a to applicants under the age of 18).
7. Successful applicants will be required to complete the Scouts Canada Screening and Training requirements.
8. Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
9. Valid Food Safe certification.
10. Previous experience working with youth would be an asset.

 WAGE:

This is a contract position and a total salary, commensurate with skill and experience, will be established for the contract period.
