Maintenance Staff — Camp McLean

Job Summary: This position is essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and functional camp environment for campers, staff, and visitors. This position will ensure the property is maintained and safe for program operations and assist as necessary with program setup or take down.

Tasks & Responsibilities:  

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the overall safety of the grounds and facilities that pertain to Summer Camp.
• Ensuring the overall cleanliness of the grounds and facilities that pertain to Summer Camp.
• The maintenance of Summer Camp equipment and supplies.
• Assisting with regular vamp maintenance in coordination with the Camp Ranger.
• Fostering an atmosphere of fun and create those cherished (at camp) memories for everyone.

Qualifications:

• Strong Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a Team Environment.
• Good problem solving and decision making skills.
• Understanding of Scouts Canada’s practices.
• Enthusiastic and energetic.
• Valid Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector search or willing to obtain one (n/a to applicants under the age of 18).
• Successful applicants will be required to complete the Scouts Canada Screening and Training requirements.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Valid Food Safe certification (an asset but not mandatory).
• Previous experience working with youth would be an asset.

WAGE:

This is a contract position and a total salary, commensurate with skill and experience, will be established for the contract period.
