Reports to: Store Manager/Camp Director

General Description

A Store Clerk is responsible Store(s) day to day operation with the rest of the store team. Thew store team is responsible for the maintaining of their equipment, inventory management, order fulfillment, food safety, transactions, and smart retailing. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be an effective role model to campers and This includes but is not limited to:
    • Living the vision, mission and values of Scouts Canada
    • Respectful treatment of all campers/staff
    • Compliance with all rules/regulations and safety procedures
    • Appropriate communication and interactions prior to, during and after camp
    • Maintaining a clean & safe work/living environment and general behaviour throughout theemployment period
    • Displaying enthusiasm for activities, personal cleanliness, dress, speech, manners, and positive relations with campers/staff.
  • Actively participate in the resolution of concerns that may arise within the team or with campers and imple- ment appropriate process for the management of such.
  • Notify the Store Manager and Camp Director of any concerns as they
  • Be prepared and on time for all shifts assigned
  • Provide input to the store and trading post operations with an aim to continuously improve customer
  • Adhere to safety standards for all food handling, and ensure all displays meet safety standards
  • Daily cleaning of all areas and equipment in the Store and Trading Post; cleaning of the Snack Shack
  • Assist with inventory and preparation of food/merchandise orders
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of functional displays and signage for all food and merchandise
  • Monitor customers
  • Perform sales and register duties as assigned
  • Lift up to 15kg (30 lbs) safely and stand for extended periods
  • Be prepared and on time for all shifts assigned.
  • Work independently and as team to complete tasks set.
  • Assist with pre-camp and post-camp activities, and post-camp inventory and closing procedures
  • Assist in all other duties outside of this description.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Standard First Aid with CPR Certification, Pleasure Craft Operator Card
  • Completes Scouts Canada screening process including a clear Police Records Check, with Vulnerable sector check and all required training by the date provided by the Camp Director.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector search or willing to obtain one (n/a to applicants under the age of 18).
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete the Scouts Canada Screening and Training requirements.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Embodies personal beliefs in keeping with the Mission, Principles & Practices of Scouts Canada.
  • Proven leadership, teamwork, planning & administrative abilities.
  • Food Handling Certification highly desirable
  • Retail sales and marketing experience are desirable
  • Strong communication & customer service skills.
  • Experienced in working in a camp environment.
  • Food Handlers Certificate or equivalent certification an asset
  • Experience in food service which includes prepping, cooking, cleaning, and storage of.
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team
