Camp Adventureland - Summer Programs 2024

Whether you’ve been camping with us for years or are looking into joining us for the first time we are so glad you are here. Camp Adventureland has operated out of Woodland Trails camp in Stouffville since 1970 and we pride ourselves on providing the very best summer camp experience in the GTA.

Our senior team consists of several teachers, social workers and educational assistants. We are known for consistently delivering an inclusive, safe, and fun experience for campers that will leave them talking about their time here for years to come.

We will be running all of our traditional programs in 2024 including Day Camp, LIT and Overnight. Weeks and themes are listed below. Capacity is limited – all eight weeks sold out last year, so book now!

Adventureland Day Camps

Camp Adventureland’s Day Camp Program provides youth ages 5-12 with fun and memorable summer programming. Campers will be exposed to new experiences and activities that promote teamwork and adventure.

For summer 2024, this program will run daily, Monday through Friday from 8 am-6 pm - all 8 weeks of the summer.

Day campers will have the opportunity to engage in a number of outdoor programs while building relationships with fellow campers and staff members. Our goal is to foster an inclusive environment in which campers of all abilities can thrive. We encourage youth to make friends and to try new things. We endeavor to excite and challenge our youth with adventure while placing an emphasis on safety.

Drop off takes place any time between 8 am and 9 am with pick up taking place from 5pm to 6pm. Campers will be placed in cohorts made up of other campers their own age, members of our Leaders in Training program and a designated staff team. Campers do need to bring their own lunch.

Day Camp Pricing

Adventureland’s weekly Day Camp programs are offered at $310.00 (For Members).

All Day Camp participants must abide by our safety protocols and code of conduct while on property. We look forward to another exciting summer of fun in the sun!

Adventureland Overnight Camps

We are thrilled about the return of our overnight program for 2024! Overnight camp will run weeks 1-8 and is for youth ages 8-12.

Campers will participate in all regular program while also learning how to cook outdoors and participate in extra nightly activities such as bonus electives, learn to swim instruction from trained guards, movies under the stars, fireside stories and so much more.

This program allows youth to gain confidence in their newfound skills while making friends for life in a fun, inclusive environment where safety is always a focus.

This program runs from Monday morning (8am-9am drop off) and concludes Friday afternoon (5pm-6pm pick up). All food and snacks are provided for the duration of your child’s stay at camp. Youth will be in groups of 20-25 campers and will be paired with friends as requested and with youth close to their own age. They will spend the week in our village accommodations, known as “Tabins”.

Adventureland Leadership-In-Training


Camp Adventureland’s Leadership In Training (LIT) Program provides adolescents (12-16 years) with vast opportunities for personal and professional development in a fun, inclusive and safe environment.

The program is designed with outdoor adventure, personal growth and community building in mind. We endeavor to excite and challenge our youth with adventure while always focusing on safety.

 

The LIT program has both day and overnight strands with the day-only strand being ideal for newer LIT’s. Overnight LIT will run for 7 weeks with the first being week 2 (July 10th-14th). Day only LIT will run all 8 weeks.

The Day program runs daily, Monday through Friday from 8 am-6 pm. Drop off takes place any time between 8 am and 9 am with pick up taking place from 5 pm to 6 pm. Overnight LIT runs from 6 pm Sunday evening to 6 pm Friday afternoon. Day only LIT’s must bring a lunch. All meals and snacks are provided for the Overnight LIT program.

The program has a long history of providing youth with valuable life skills, self-confidence and a better understanding of themselves. The majority of our summer staff graduated from the LIT program. LIT’s will work towards completion of weekly goals using our “passport system” and will receive an end of week evaluation with next steps and highlights of their successes. The program meets youth where they are, and helps them become the best they can be, no matter what goals they may have for themselves.

 

Program Activities

Archery: Ever wanted to try archery? Well, now you can! Join our instructor for a safety and skill-based lesson followed by target practice with coaching.


Outdoor Education/Ecology: Learn more about the flora and fauna of the Oak Ridges Moraine as we get outside and see what Woodland Trails has to offer. Instructor’s will cover several topics related to animal life, ecology, environmental protection and the current partnerships we have to promote sustainable use of the forest.

 Outdoor Survival: Join our instructor to learn more about the great outdoors and how to survive for extended periods in an outdoor emergency. Topics covered include food, water, fire building, shelter building, medicinal plants and more!

 

Trapping and Logging: Throw on some plaid and prepare to dive into the history of trapping and logging in Ontario. Learn about the different traps and how they work, see pelts from various animals and see how different logging tools helped harvest trees in years past.

Mountain Biking: Start with a basic safety lesson before enjoying our road trail or for more advanced bikers, try our forest mountain biking trail.


 Star Hikes: Join us at night in Beaver Meadow for a safely distanced astronomy lesson. Learn about the history behind the constellations and keep an eye out for shooting stars!

 

 Swimming: Join us for a refreshing swim in our Olympic sized pool! Our pool is fully staffed with certified life guards.

 

Laser Tag: Do you have what it takes to best your friends in a classic laser tag shoot-out? Find out as you challenge them all in a show down!

 

Wood Working: Join us to create a unique one-of-a-kind project in our wood shop as we explore new tools and ways to make something new with friends.

Overnight campers and overnight LITS will be provided with all meals and snacks. Day campers (including Day LIT) must bring a lunch with them each day.

Yes, all guards have a current NLS and campers will be guarded at all times while on deck and in the pool. Our guard/swimmer ratio is kept low to ensure added safety at all times. In addition, our pool facility goes through public health testing every summer prior to opening and again halfway through the summer.

Yes, they do. Additionally, the kitchen is inspected by public health prior to the start of camp and again halfway through the summer.

Yes! A t-shirt is included in every weekly booking. Hoodies can be purchased for an additional $40 and will feature a different design from the t-shirt. Youth will also receive a camp crest this summer on their last day.

No, our mountain biking program is fully equipped with enough bikes and helmets in a variety of sizes for each camper. However, if you or your child would like to bring their own helmet, they are more than welcome to.

Yes. During registration, please provide the full names of any other campers that you would like to have in the same group as your child(ren).
