Day Camp Program Details

Camp Wetaskiwin is the place to be this summer! Our Day Camp is an outdoor adventure program, which emphasizes the development of outdoor skills, environmental knowledge, and the exploration of the camp's 85 acres. The Day Camp is for youth, ages 7-12. They are placed in groups according to their ages and supervised by trained leaders. Our daily program is well balanced. The activities are selected to teach outdoor skills, foster self-confidence, respect for others and the environment, promote teamwork, and be fun! Each activity is age appropriate and takes into consideration the skill levels of the participants.

Our campers will enjoy activities within their group while also exploring all that Camp Wetaskiwin has to offer. They will have daily access to our outdoor pool to hone their swimming skills while playing with their friends. We pride our program on the emphasis of outdoor skill development, including but not limited to fire building, shelter building, outdoor cooking, hiking, archery, dip netting, and more! (depending on weather conditions).

Camp Wetaskiwin FAQ

The rules and regulations of the camp will be discussed with each camper on the first day as well as each following morning. Campers are not permitted to wander off unsupervised or leave their groups without permission. We reserve the right to dismiss/suspend any camper who continually displays disruptive or unsafe behaviour. This is to ensure the utmost safety of all participants.

If medication is required, please ensure that this information is on your child's registration form. It must be in a secure package (e.g. a Ziploc bag) and delivered to the staff at camp. The medication is to be labelled as follows: Camper's name, program/dates, type of medication and dosage, treatment, and reason for medication. Medication will be kept by the camper's leader and will be given as you have directed. We do prefer that camper's be able to self-administer their medication, but we are able to store it. Please advise us if there are any changes to medication during your child's camp week.

All Lost and Found articles will be stored in the Director's office until the end of each week. The items will be brought out during Drop off and Pick up so please check while you bring/come for your camper(s). After the camp season, lost and found will be sorted. We will call about lost items identified with a name on it. Any unclaimed articles will be donated to a charitable organization.

Our summer programs are be planned in alignment with the Ministry of Health Day Camp guidelines and Niagara Region Public Health guidelines. Any changes to this guidance may result in changes to camp offerings, protocols, services, and/or cancellations of programs/services with little notice.

Measures that will be in place to ensure a safe and healthy camp experience include but aren't limited to:

  • Staff roles dedicated to routine cleaning and equipment disinfection
  • Daily testing of water sources on site
  • Sign up systems and limited capacity in group settings for programming and activities
