Lydia Turczynski, longtime manager of the Oakville Scout Shop, is retiring from Scouts Canada.
For many years Lydia has been providing exceptional service and support to the Oakville community and Scouters across Ontario and Canada. She has always been patient with parents and Scouters who call her up for a last minute ‘just one more thing’ before the meeting or camp. Lydia has also travelled to countless Scouting events, Canadian and World Jamborees to provide Scout Shop services to the attending participants and volunteers.
In early May, Lydia was presented with two special Scouts Canada awards in an online celebration: her 25 Years of Service award and the Silver Maple Leaf. The Silver Maple Leaf is presented for outstanding service to Scouting in excess of 25 years as a member of the executive staff.
Thank you Lydia for all you have has done for Canadian Scouting, your friendship and your willingness to share and help out wherever needed. We wish you all the best in your next adventure.
