June Fry
Dear Scouters,
On behalf of the NK3, It is our sincere pleasure to announce the appointment of June Fry as the incoming Council Commissioner for White Pine Council.
June participated in the Girl Guide program as a youth and signed up as a Colony Scouter when she registered her son in 2011 with 8th Ajax. June enjoyed being part of the scouter team that provided the beavers with such unique experiences that when her son moved up to pack, she decided to take on the role of Akela. It was during this time that she got more involved with the group administration, becoming Group Commissioner in 2016. June enjoyed working with other GCs in the area to host multi group activities and events enabling youth to come together more often and to promote scouting in Ajax and the surrounding communities. In 2020, June also took on the role of Group Support Scouter in White Pine Council supporting four other groups.
Professionally, June is an IT Project Manager having managed many multi-million-dollar projects in banking and government. She enjoys bringing together project team members and leveraging their unique skills to work together to deliver complex IT solutions. She loves to travel and her preferred way to travel is on a cruise; waking up each day in a new location and being able to experience different cultures and experiences. June is driven to grow Scouting by ensuring that scouters feel confident and supported in their roles to offer amazing adventures. She is looking forward to supporting and strengthening Scouting throughout the White Pine Council.
June will be transitioned into the role over the next few months and will assume the role officially in November 2022. Gwen, Jeff, Michael, and June will work together for a successful transition. Jeff will be with us until November but we would still like to thank him for the passion and energy he has devoted to the Council Commissioner role.
