UPDATED REQUIREMENTS - British Columbia Restricitons and Scouting Meetings

December 22, 2021

Starting today, December 22, 2021, the B.C. Ministry of Health has increased restrictions on gatherings in various settings, which affect INDOOR meetings for Scout groups.

Below is a summary image of the added restrictions which stay in effect until January 18, 2022

 PHO Overview Dec 22 2021

As a result of the Provincial Health Orders, there can be NO indoor meetings for Scout Groups or Sections while these restrictions remain in place. OUTDOOR meetings are still permitted. We highly encourage the use of masks for all Scouters and youth who are planning outdoor adventures.

Groups/Sections who would rather conduct virtual meetings until these restrictions are lifted are encouraged to do so. We have a TON of virtual meeting ideas and resources - check out the webpage to explore all the fun opportunities!

We are also in contact with the British Columbia Camping Association (the organization which advises both Scouts Canada and the BC Government on Camping Restrictions) regarding overnight camps. We will provide updates by January 8, 2021 through your Group Relationship Manager.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your Group Relationship Manager. Their contact information is listed on your Scout group home page on MyScouts.

We hope you are all taking time to rest over the holidays and enjoying the time with your families. Stay safe, and we will see you in the New Year!
