Welcome To The Chinook Council!
Discover skills, friendships & adventures you just won’t find anywhere else. Serving more than 10,000 adult and youth scouts across southern Alberta, the Chinook Council carries out Scouts Canada’s mission of developing well-rounded youth prepared to make the world a better place.
To do that, we support more than 200 scouting groups in Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturer Scouts, and Rover Scouts all following our Canadian Path throughout an area rich in geographical and cultural diversity. Our 13 service areas include cities such as Calgary, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat as well as dozens of small communities and rural centres. With the beautiful Rockies foothills, Badlands and Prairies in our backyard, we’re proud to offer members an exciting diversity of experiences, including the awesome Camp Impeesa!
Our Region
Our territory spans from the southern Alberta border, north to Bowden. Included in our 13 service areas are the cities of Calgary, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat. Nearly 40% of our members live in smaller urban and rural centres.
