Beavers will be 50 years old in 2024! Beavers became an official section of Scouting in 1974. The 40th Marpole Group started the first experimental Colony in 1972 and the 6th St. Agnes Colony was started in 1974. Both Colonies were active a year plus before Beavers became an official section in Scouts Canada. The 6th St. Agnes held their first meeting in January of 1973 and their first investiture night was held on March 13 of that same year. It was a snowy night but they had a full turn out and Scouting guests thoroughly enjoyed the celebration.
Pacific Coast Council sends our congratulations and thanks for continuing to offer a great Beaver programme and engaging our youth in wonderful adventures!
Stay tuned for 50th anniversary Beaver celebrations coming later this year!
