Empowering youth to better their communities

If you want to make a meaningful difference for young people in Canada, it starts with Scouts. We help youth connect with the world beyond screens, encouraging them to bring their wildest ideas to life. Supported in creating safe and tangible plans, youth turn possibility into reality.

The Impact Value of a Scouts Canada Partnership

At Scouts Canada, we empower youth to develop essential life skills through hands-on experiences that connect them with nature, foster leadership and build community engagement. By supporting Scouts, you’re supporting a generation of integrity that is strengthening communities across Canada.

Whether they’re leading food drives to support those in need, paddling local waterways to remove invasive plants, discovering what they’re made of by facing fun challenges on the trail together or more, Scouts make milestone memories that cultivate their character.

Our programs are designed to help kids and young people embrace responsibility, compassion and confidence to create a better future for themselves and those around them. Partnering with us means investing in today’s leaders who will shape a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient Canada.

Our North Star

Our guiding principles to navigate partnerships:

We are committed to seeking opportunities that further the impact of our Mission and Vision and serve our members. This means creating opportunities for youth development, volunteer engagement, property management, maintaining our safety culture and more, thereby strengthening communities across Canada.

As a values-driven organization led by kindness, integrity, helpfulness to others, respect and inclusivity for all lived experiences, we are committed to building partnerships and receiving support from like-minded organizations.

We are committed to working with contributors (sponsors, partners, Foundations, donors) to ensure our use of their donation honours the intent of their generosity.

It takes a team to lead positive change. Our efforts involve staff, volunteers, youth, partners and communities to bring our vision to life. We measure the impact of our work so that contributors can see the lasting difference they’ve made by supporting Scouts.

Public Health Agency of Canada

PHAC: Tick & Lyme Disease Awareness Campaign 2021-2024

Scouts Canada’s “Tick and Lyme Disease Awareness Campaign” aimed to increasing public awareness and knowledge about ticks and Lyme disease through social media campaigns, educational activities, the distribution of tick keys, providing safety tips and more.

Strategically designed to align with national public health priorities, program material helped Scouts Canada members and the wider community understand how to prevent, remove and treat tick bites.

  • 10,000 kits with educational materials and tick removal keys were mailed to members, supporting tick and lyme awareness and equipping them with the resources to prevent or respond to tick bites.
  • Scouts Canada volunteers who were surveyed demonstrated the ability to identify ticks, how to prevent tick bites and what to do if they receive a tick bite, as well as what Lyme disease is, the symptoms of Lyme disease and the long-term impacts that Lyme disease can have on them.
  • The campaign led to increased awareness amongst volunteers regarding the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Scouts Canada’s Scouts for Sustainability program.
  • The campaign achieved 14.47M social media impressions, 127K engagements and 2.4K conversions.

Hydro One: Ontario Grizzly Den 2022-2023

Scouts Canada and Hydro One’s partnership created safer spaces to live and play within Ontario and throughout Scouting communities. In 2022, the Grizzly Den created the opportunity for youth to increase their access to great, safe adventures through funding that removed financial barriers and elevated the outdoor Scouting spirit to new levels.

The program enabled youth, from Beavers (aged 5–7) all the way up to Rovers (aged 18–26) to foster important life skills by brainstorming adventure ideas, working with their peers to build an adventure plan (including risk identification and management), creating a captivating pitch and then, if successful, taking those plans and putting them into action.

  • Over 1,100 Ontario youth across 70 Scouting Sections participated in safe, exciting and empowering adventures between June 2022 and May 2023, ranging from local hikes and backwoods camping to multi-day canoe expeditions and overseas adventures.
  • The program achieved 130K social media impressions, 7K engagements and 1K conversions. Moreover, the program was highlighted in Scouts Canada’s annual report, sent to over 50,000 individuals, as well as newsletters shared with 47,000 members, donors and volunteers.
