A pair of Sherwood Park Cub Scouts are cleaning up the community one park at a time.
Josh McMenamon and Angus Coyne are members of the 169 Glen Allen Scouts and are working towards Seeonee Awards but the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench in their plans. The duo decided they didn’t want the pandemic to stop them from helping the community and came up with a coronavirus-appropriate community service project.
The Cub Scouts have been cleaning up parks and walking spaces in Sherwood Park, with the help of their parents, as their community service project spending Saturday, May 23 at Ball Lake Park.
“It was the cleanest park we went to so far,” explained McMenamon, a Grade 5 student at Davidson Creek Elementary. “We collected two full garbage bags there in total between the four of us.”
