Do you know how to build a quinzhee?
Well the 1st Hastings Scouting group does and they did just that this past Saturday in the town park.
A quinzhee is a Canadian snow shelter that is made from a large pile of loose snow which is shaped then hollowed.
This skill that the youth will be learning will go towards their Outdoor Adventure Skills achievements.
The Scouts, a co-ed group servicing Hastings, Norwood, Campbellford and the surrounding areas have been assembling in the park’s northwest corner regularly since last September.
