An exercise of good citizenship by the 10th Welland Scout Group has helped stock the shelves at a local food bank.
On April 11, Cubs (ages 8-10) and Scouts (ages 11-14) with the Welland group staged a food drive for the St. David’s Anglican Church food pantry, collecting 300 pounds of food that will help put food on the table for members of the community who need a helping hand.
10th Welland Scouts is sponsored by St. David's Anglican Church in Welland, meaning they provide the group with a location to hold weekly meetings. When hearing about the need at their food bank, which currently serves over 90 families a month, the youth decided they wanted to help.
