Scouts Canada is thrilled to announce the selection of 35 exceptional young individuals from across the country to receive funding from the Scout Gear Adventure Fund (SGAF). These youth, hailing from Newfoundland to British Columbia, represent the adventurous spirit and dedication to Scouting that embodies the essence of our organization.
Selected from a pool of inspiring applicants, these deserving individuals will embark on a variety of action-packed adventures, including the Icelandic National Jamboree, Pacific Jamboree, Scottish International Patrol Jamborette, a journey across Europe, Australia Scout Jamboree, and Essex International Jamboree. Each adventure promises to be a transformative experience, offering opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and the creation of unforgettable memories.
While we celebrate the recipients of this year's funding, we appreciate the overwhelming response we had, which exceeded $70,000 in requests from 119 youth. We regretfully acknowledge that we were unable to fund all deserving applicants. However, Scouts Canada and Scout Gear are committed to continuing this program in the years to come, with the goal of expanding our support to enable even more young Scouts to materialize their dreams.
