Are you ready for great outdoor adventures this fall? Get planning with the help of 15 weeks of outdoor meeting ideas in our Outdoor Meeting Scripts! These scripts are designed to be flexible. You can use all of it, your favourite parts, or only certain activities when you’re stuck. These meeting plans will help you progress along The Canadian Path and get back to the best of Scouting – outdoor adventures! – You may find that you need to change the order of activities based on weather, or where you’re located in the country. Take what works for your Section and dive right into the return to Scouting!
 
Need to keep it simple one week? There’s always the option to fit virtual meetings into your planning for when the weather doesn’t cooperate or you want a virtual meeting to plan your great adventures! Personal Achievement Badge (PAB) Portal
 
 
With the return to Scouting, it’s a great time to work on personal progression! As a Scouter, your role is to support kids in setting safe and realistic requirements that will challenge them to try something new or push the boundaries of their current interests. Your role is made easier with the new Personal Achievement Badge (PAB) Portal that’s coming soon! Youth can navigate through PABs on this kid-friendly portal – with an interactive quiz to help choose a badge, countless activity ideas, and a printable auto-generated form to plan, track and present their progress to personal progression!

The wait is almost over! The new Scouts for Sustainability initiative is rolling out soon. The first four goals, #3 Good Health and Well-Being , #9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, #14 Life Below Water and #15 Life on Land, are officially launching this fall! As individuals, it can feel impossible to change the world. But, just imagine a movement that includes all of Scouts Canada’s members working together to make the world a better place – especially during these times! Using the new website, explore the goal, discover the many SDG-related activities, and encourage youth to take steps in creating a better world. Share the adventures on the interactive country-wide map, and strive for the sustainability badge.

Activity Database
 
 
Ever tried to find the perfect activity but found it difficult because you ran out of ideas or options to choose from? This will soon be a problem of the past as Scouts Canada is launching its brand new activity database later this fall! With this easy to navigate database of activity ideas, youth-led will be even easier to facilitate. Do youth want an outdoor activity? Feel crafty? A quick game? Or a long-term project? Pick your filters, and see what comes up! Each activity will also list ways to make it simpler and take it further – making it easy to scale up or down depending on who’s joining in on the fun! With some old Trail Card favourites, and brand-new activity ideas – youth are sure to find many fun activities to try.

The Program Support Team is excited to be hosting Scouters Mug-Ups. Grab your mug and join us for an evening chat of tips, tricks and share your experiences for your return to Scouting this fall. Gather virtually with fellow Section Scouters to explore new resources and discover some great ideas.
 
Before attending the webinars, Scouters are strongly encouraged to complete the “Welcome Back to Scouting 2020!” training which can be found in the David Huestis Learning Centre. Registration for the webinars is available in the “Welcome back to Scouting 2020!” course.

St. John Ambulance
 
Youth and Scouters can embark on more outdoor adventures with greater confidence and skills to address potential safety incidents.
 
Scouters and youth will be offered locally delivered first aid training at a significantly discounted rate. Scouts Canada will also be working with St. John Ambulance in 2021 to develop a first of its kind, hybrid Standard First Aid and Wilderness First Aid course. In-person training will be made available when it is safe to do so.

Scouts Tracker
Active Sections and Groups have free membership for ScoutsTracker since July 1 to facilitate event planning, badge progression and organizing Group logistics. ScoutsTracker has been updated to include COVID protocols for activities.
