Personal Achievement Badges – Scouts

There are six different Program Areas to explore in Scouts, each represented by a different Canadian trail. Explore Canada and the different Personal Achievement badges as you make your way through your Scouting journey!

  1. Pick your badge – there are 16 for you to choose from!
  2. Plan your adventures – big, small, or somewhere in the middle. With help from a parent, Scouter or older youth, plan five adventures related to your badge.
  3. Have fun on your adventures! Don’t forget to be safe.
  4. Review your adventures with your parent, Scouter or Patrol. How did you grow during your adventure? Use SPICES as part of your review!
  5. Present your badge work to your Scouter. Share what you have done and what you have learned!
  • Do you need an adult’s help for your adventure?
    • Personal Achievement badges are meant to challenge you, so you should try to come up with adventures that you can do on your own! However, if you’re trying something completely new or need supervision for your safety, adult support is encouraged.
  • Will you learn or try something new?
    • Your adventure should help you to learn something completely new, try something you’ve never done before and maybe even step out of your comfort zone. Try to pick a PAB on a subject that’s new to you!
  • How long will your adventure take?
    • Adventures may take days, weeks or months, depending on the activity. However, if your adventure is going to take a whole year of work, you might want to think about saving your adventure for your Chief Scout Award instead.
  • Will you have fun doing this adventure?
    • This is the most important step – have fun doing your PAB adventures and take this as a chance to challenge yourself and learn something new!
