Scouting has been a passion of mine ever since I was a little Beaver learning about sharing. This passion developed over the years and allowed me to push myself out of my comfort zone to try new things. One camp that I will never forget is the 2015 Pacific Jamboree.
At this camp I gained a great appreciation for the greater Scouting community, as well as my own Group since we spent a lot of time together. This seven day journey tested my knowledge and skills of the outdoors along with my willpower do things I would have never done had I been alone. One experience that I was given the opportunity to do was scuba-diving. This was an activity I was eager, but still quite nervous to try. With the support of my Group, that day I tried something I would have never done if I was not in Scouting. Throughout this trip strong bonds were developed within our Group and with other Groups. I met many other Scouts from around the world, saw their unique badges and neckerchiefs, and heard about their amazing experiences as Scouts. Without a doubt, this camp allowed me to develop as an individual and is going to be a memory that will truly be cherished.
