The Start of an Exciting Scouting Year

The 1st Lennoxville Scouts (Quebec Council) started the Scouting year with an evening of games and the planning of the upcoming season.

Our opening ceremony was followed by a selection of favorite games, including parachute, dodgeball, and ‘the hand game’. The latter involved a succession of tapping on the floor in a precise pattern, which resulted in considerable clacking, clapping, chuckling, and giggling, and was aimed, among other things, at breaking the ice for our new members.

We then proceeded to the planning of future activities. Members in each age group were asked to suggest both indoor and outdoor activities to be carried out throughout the year.

Ideas included camping, hiking, swimming, metal forging, playing in the park, archery, cooking, a visit to the library, sculpturing, pajama party, bowling, skating, fire building, biking, a visit to the manor, mini-golf, and kayaking.

We are very excited to start the Scouting year and can’t wait to embark on many delightful adventures.

Yours in Scouting,
Didi Gorman, 1st Lennoxville Scouts
