Working Behind the Scenes: A Shout-Out to Scouters in Administrative Roles

There are many different positions in a Scout group. There are those who work directly with the youth in various leadership roles, and there are those who toil behind the scenes to ensure the group’s smooth running throughout the year. Some members hold both leadership and administrative capacities in the group.

Examples for support roles are the group’s secretary, registrar, commissioner, administrator, treasurer, quartermaster, as well as those in charge of fundraising, publicity, repairing of equipment, ordering of supplies, communication with parents and contact with our sponsors, updating our website and Facebook page, and handling various paperwork.

The combined effort of all of us together, leaders and support members alike –our teamwork, in other words– is the engine behind the group’s success.

This post is in appreciation of all our volunteers, each and every one of them, in whichever capacity they might be. Your devotion and your many skills and talents are our most precious assets. You make Scouting a great place to be.

Yours in Scouting,

Didi Gorman, 1st Lennoxville Scouts
