We are thrilled to announce the formation of a Digital Advisory team who will serve as a strategic resource to provide insights, guidance, and recommendations for the success of Scouts Canada's Digital Transformation initiatives.

 

Leo Caisse

Leo Caisse

Leo Caisse is a lifelong Scout with many years of experience across three National Scouting Organizations (NSOs). Currently serving as the Council Commissioner for Voyageur Council, he has led initiatives to make Scouting more accessible and inclusive, while championing efforts to grow membership and enhance volunteer support.

Professionally, Leo is the Director of Global Sales Operations at Trend Micro, a $2B global cybersecurity leader. He recently led a successful business transformation from Salesforce CRM to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales and introduced generative AI technologies to optimize productivity and enhance decision-making. As a long-standing volunteer with Trend Micro’s Internet Safety for Kids & Families program, Leo has helped promote online safety and digital literacy worldwide, contributing to the program's impact on over 3.4 million people.

Leo believes Scouts Canada’s Digital Advisory Team should focus not only on modernizing tools and processes but also on extending the organization’s strong culture of safety into the digital world. He brings a passion for leveraging technology to create safe, inclusive, and impactful Scouting experiences for all.

Wilfreda Edward

Wilfreda Edward

Wilfreda is the Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience (CCNDR), where she spearheads initiatives to enhance digital capacity across Canada’s nonprofit sector. With over a decade of experience in policy development, data governance, and open data, Wilfreda has made impactful contributions at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, serving as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Chief Information Officer of Canada and as an Open Data Specialist to advance data transparency and digital policy. Her previous work with Transport Canada and Statistics Canada honed her expertise in data analysis and GIS, focusing on transportation safety, environmental data, and national statistics.

Wilfreda is a passionate advocate for open data and has held leadership roles with the Canadian Open Data Society and the Open Data Charter’s Implementation Working Group, championing data accessibility, usability, and sustainable digital practices. She brings a deep understanding of data-driven policy and remains dedicated to advancing equitable digital access across Canadian communities, driving positive change and resilience in the nonprofit sector. 

 

Marek Fukas

Marek Fukas

Marek brings over 20 years of professional experience in the ICT industry. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia. Since graduating, he has worked with leading global IT companies, including CGI, before founding his own IT consultancy company, which he continues to lead today.

In 2016-2017 he joined the World Scout Bureau as a Project Manager for Digital Projects, overseeing the implementation of key initiatives such as the Scout Donation Platform, the World Scouting e-voting system, the WOSM Services platform, the Member Portal, and the World Scouting Directory.

An active member of Scouting since 1992, Marek has held various roles at local and national levels, including Deputy Chief Scout. He played a key role in introducing a new membership management system for Scouting Slovakia in 2016. He enjoys outdoor activities and is a proud father of four.

Lindsey Billing

Lindsey Billing

Lindsey has been actively involved in Scouting for nearly a decade, serving in various leadership roles at the Section, Group, Area, and Council levels. Currently, he is the Council Commissioner for Central Escarpment, where he supports and drives the Council strategy in co-operation with his Council Key 3 partners.

Professionally, Lindsey has built a successful career in technology, spanning both consulting and industry. He has led teams across multiple disciplines, including Project Management, PMO, Quality Engineering, Business Relationship Management, and Technology Strategy. Currently as Executive Vice President of Technology at a leading Canadian logistics company, he oversees all aspects of technology, data & analytics, and cybersecurity.

Passionate about both Scouting and technology, Lindsey is excited to leverage his expertise to advise and support Scouts Canada’s continued growth and success via the use of technology.
