The Council Commissioner is the leading volunteer for Scouting in Tri Shores with a membership of over 1500 Youth supported by more than 500 volunteers. Working closely with the other two members in the Council Key 3 (Council Youth Commissioner and Council Relationship Manager), the Council Commissioner is responsible for supporting and growing the Scouting movement in the Council, as well as being a vital member of the National Service Team and setting the direction for Scouting in Canada.
The Council Key 3 works together in partnership to provide support to ensure safe, high-quality programs through key behaviours of the Five Priorities and the Group Health Navigator. Members of the Council Key 3 (CK3) share their responsibilities and partner appropriately with each other to coordinate their strategy, actions and communications with volunteers, employees, youth members, and other stakeholders. Each Council Key 3 is tasked with managing their team in accordance with the policies and strategic directions set out by the Board of Governors.
Appointed by and accountable to the National Key 3 of Scouts Canada, this position requires a time commitment of 40 - 50 hours per month. The appointment is for a one-year term, renewable for a maximum of three years. Travel throughout the Council to attend meetings and events will be required.
With the completion of the term of the current Council Commissioner, Tri Shores Council is seeking an individual with lots of energy, excellent time management skills and strong relationship skills to assume the role.
