2022–2023 Annual Report

Harnessing Opportunity

Scouts Canada

Letter from the NK3

Onwards with Resilience and Purpose

It is with a sense of pride and determination that we reflect on the last 2022/23 year, when our Scouting community faced residual challenges of the pandemic and saw a moderate 22% rebound of our youth membership compared to our membership numbers during the COVID-19 pandemic, getting us closer to pre-pandemic membership levels. Through our collective resiliency and commitment to our Mission—preparing youth for success in the world—we celebrate our achievements as we continue to work through obstacles together. As we move forward in 2024 to action the remaining goals of our current Strategic Plan, we look inward to sustain success.

Our Opportunity

COMMUNITIES NEED US NOW MORE THAN EVER. The pandemic has elevated the importance of kids having fun outdoor adventures with their friends.

SCOUTING DOES JUST THAT.

As a committed team of more than 12,000, we have a unique opportunity to serve kids and their families. WE KNOW YOUTH ARE CAPABLE OF ANYTHING.

Scouting gives youth the opportunity to lead and discover the spark to light their fire. As a Scouting community, we know that to overcome the challenges ahead we need to give more people the chance to lead. TO DO THIS, WE MUST:

Centre youth and start with “yes
Build genuine, trusting relationships
Uplift diverse perspectives and appreciate the contributions of all
Tap into the potential of the many while actively removing barriers

We will create a movement of happier, healthier youth that contribute to a better world. Together, we can play a pivotal role in supporting kids and their families to thrive in a post-pandemic world.

THE TIME IS NOW.
