Camp Nedooae Update

December 27, 2020

Friends in Scouting,

We are writing to provide you with an update on Camp Nedooae. As you may be aware, late on December 25th, Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency crews responded to a fire at Camp Nedooae that caused significant damage to three buildings- the farmhouse, dining hall & Duncan Training Centre.

At the time of this incident the property was closed and secured with no activities taking place on the premises.

The RCMP is currently investigating this matter and we are supporting them in anyway we can.  The site is currently in the process of being safely secured. In the coming weeks the damage will be assessed and next steps will be determined. At this time, you can expect to hear more from us.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the first responders of Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency for their efforts. Additionally, we would like to give a big thanks to our volunteers & staff who are supporting us on the ground during the holiday season.

Yours in Scouting,
Zach Fitzsimmons- Council Commissioner
Amy Kehoe - Council Youth Commissioner
Justin Dubreuil - Interim Council Relationship Manager
