February 2023

Feb 4 - Camp Samac Volunteer Orientation, Council Hall, 10am-1pm, expanding deliverable programs and activities to the users of the camp. Debby Corneal or call 905-926-1481

Feb 11-12 -  Standard First Aid, 9-5 both days, $145 + HST for adult scoutersm $125 + HST for youth ages 12-17, Address: Camp Samac, Council Hall Annex, 275 Conlin Rd E, Oshawa, Register by emailing, Min 6 students required for course to run.

Feb 20 – (Sold Out) Family Day Activity Day at Camp Samac – open to families of Scouting. Tobogganing, trail hikes, snowshoeing, offers of service, Hot Dogs, 10am-4pm

Feb 22 - Thinking Day Scouting's founder Baden Powell's Birthday, look for various celebrations and banquets.

Feb 22 - Spirit Walk for Founder's Day, 6:30-8:30pm, Cabin #2, Camp Samac, 275 Conlin Rd E, Oshawa


March 2023

Mar 7 - Colony Scouter Networking Evening, 7pm to 9pm, St. Marks United Church, 201 Centre St S, Whitby, ON.  
Agenda for the evening includes:
  • A Learning Activity: Mapping Game - Using the Pond Map
  • Event Planning: North Star Adventure Day and Beaveree
  • Programming and idea sharing opportunities
Mar 24-26 - OSS Weekend, come to Camp Samac on offer of service, getting camp ready for a busy spring season.


April 2023

2023 "OUTCON" is all about exploring new things, sharing ideas, learning new skills, and creating new Paths.  This day event is open to Scouters, youth, parents, and potential volunteers.

Apr 8 - Easter Egg Hunt, Camp Samac 

April 22 – 10 am-4 pm Earth Day at Camp Samac(Details to be deterimined) For all sections (Sections or Families on their own can attend); Cost: $5  Enjoy a day of nature at Camp Samac. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Compost. Enjoy relays, scavenger hunts, planting flowers, see the trout run, cast a fishing line, plant trees, help build a compost station and much more.  BBQ lunch is available for $3/hot dog or sausage & a donation for a drink.  Camp Samac, 275 Conlin Rd E, Oshawa. Contact: Debby Corneal at

April 22 - Colony Workshop at St. Marks Church, Whitby.  (Details to be deterimined) 11am - 4pm  Contact: Anita Simmons Please bring your own lunch/snack, coffee and tea provided. Topics covered include: • Learning the Map • Outdoor Adventure Skills • Youth Led Programming • Personal Achievement Badges • Planning • Ceremonies

April 29 – North Star Adventure at Camp Samac – For Beavers (White Tails only); Formerly known as the White Tail Slap, 3rd year Beavers, get ready for a day of adventure. The day includes 8 activities, pizza lunch, crafts, a crest and certificate. Camp Samac - Council Hall, 275 Conlin Rd E, Oshawa. 9:30am (Check In) to 3:00pm (Closing)


May 2023

May 7 – Jamboree on the Trail in Uxbridge – For all sections - $7 each includes crest and lunch.  See for details, interactive map, and registration form.

May 13 – JOTT'26 at Camp Samac  – For all sections; Looking for Venturers, Rovers and Scouters to assist with events. 9am-4pm,  $5 per person Contact: Linda Watson Register in spring 2023 Event Jott 2023

May 27 – White Pine Beaveree - Video Games Live (Colony)
Where: Camp Samac - 275 Conlin Rd E, Oshawa, Ontario
Time: 8:30am to 4:00pm 

May 27-28 - Willow Valley Challenge 2023, 2 Day Backpacking Challenge for Scouts and Venturer Scouts.
Competition based on Hike Challenges along the trial and a Log. Large groups may have multiple teams.
Hiking Oak Ridge Moraine Trails and York Forest Trails adjacent to Woodland Trails Scout Camp. Overnight camping at Woodland Trails, Stouffville, Ontario. Contact: J Kirby McCuaig, 6th Willowdale Rover Scouts at:


June 2023

 June 9 - 11 - Cuboree at Camp Samac(Details to be determined)

Jun 24 – Badge Trading Day at Camp Samac, For those that would like to swap badges, June 23/24 we will be hosting the event at the Old Scout Shop.  This is a great time to reconnect and visit our museum


July 2023

Jul 3 – Sep 1 – Samac Summer Camp open (weekdays)

Sep 15-17 - The Scout Brigade of Fort George, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. 

Sep 23 - Doors Open Oshawa - Guided tours, learn about the scouting tradition and Camp Samac's history. -City wide event to provide access to dozens of facilities - Camp Samac 10 am - 4 pm

Sep 29- Oct 1 - 50th World Brotherhood Camporee, Riverside-Cedar Park, Morrisburg, Ontario 


October 2023

Oct 1 - Scouts Popcorn campaign officially kicks-off

Oct 13-15 - JOTA/JOTI, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park 

Oct 14 - JOTA/JOTI HAM Station and Internet Café – Jamboree on the Air & Jamboree on the Internet. Join us at Conlin House for an opportunity to connect with scouts from around the world.

November 2023

Nov 3-5 - Zoo Moot, Episode 14: Camp Samac (Venturers and Rovers)

Dec 4, 5, 6, 7 – Light Up the Forest Night Hike, Camp Samac Program Building, 6:00-9:00 pm

Dec 9 - RLSO Range Line Safety Officer certification: Pellets from 9-12, Archery from 1-4. Register. (Test at 9am for those who qualify) 

Dec 10 - RLSO Range Line Safety Officer certification: Archery from 9-12, Pellets from 1-4. Register. (Test at 9am for those who qualify)   


January 2024
