We have now opened up registration for our Highland Games Cuboree at Camp Dunlop in Kelowna!
Please register your Cub Scout Pack (pdf) by Monday April 1st to ensure you're spot at this Area Event. NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
See the separate OOS registration form (pdf)
The cost per Cub Scouts and White Tail Beaver Scouts is $30, which includes a feast on Saturday evening and an event badge. All of your Cub Scouts, Scouters and parent helpers must be registered in order to attend. White Tail Beaver Scouts are welcome to join us for the weekend.
The registration cost will be $20 for OOS (Scouts, Venturer Scouts, and Rover Scouts), Scouters and Parent Volunteers
Please note it is up to OOS to provide their own meals or eat with their pack.
Campsites are assigned. If you are set up in the wrong spot, you may be asked to relocate to your assigned site.
The camp will be ready for arrivals at 6:00pm on April 12th. The camp will close at 11:00am on April 14th.
As this event grows, the parking seems to shrink. So, please plan ahead and try to carpool. This would also be helpful for people who are dropping off. It can become very congested with everyone coming and going so please try to plan ahead.
Your group will receive a package at the Akela meeting Friday night that will detail your time at Cuboree. Program will start by about 9:00am on Saturday morning. The Camp will close by 11:00am on Sunday. We will try to keep you busy through all of the minutes in between. However, there will be periods of time when there are no events scheduled so you may want to come prepared with small activities for your youth.
What would the Cuboree be without a little friendly competition? We have a tradition known as the Spirit Award. This year we are basing our scoring on the cub scout pack that demonstrates the best attitude, teamwork, cooperation and contribution at campfire and perhaps bribes for the OOS! Oh and let’s not forget SPIRIT!! So feel free to come in costume and decorate your campsite to this year’s Highland Games theme!
It would be very helpful if Scouters could review a few camp rules with their youth before arrival.
Please keep the biffys clean
Please use only the biffy that is designated for you (boys/girls)
Please leave your site cleaner then you found it
Propane fire pits only
We never ask Cub Scout Packs to provide Stations for the event. This means we need volunteers from outside Cub Scout Packs to help us put this great camp on. Please approach your scout troop, venturer company, rover crew, service team, group committee, and parent helpers to assist. We would love to spread out the workload so that each participating group recruits volunteers for at least 1 station.
Stations will be assigned and supplies provided. OOS are to be prepared to run their assigned station all day, rain or shine. We will be assigning oos to run Cuboree Highland games stations.
